The short version

This guide works in your browser. There is no account, no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. Your answers never leave your device. If you sign up for our emails or message us on Instagram, the sections on email and Instagram below apply.

Your answers stay with you

Everything you type into the guide, and which steps you ticked off, is saved only in your own browser (local storage), so you can pick up where you left off. We cannot see it and it is never sent to us. To delete it, clear this website's data in your browser settings. If you use another device or browser, your answers will not be there.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, Netlify's servers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, date and time, the page requested and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with Netlify. Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is the basis for transfers to the USA (Art. 45 GDPR).

Fonts

The fonts are stored on this website. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other font service.

Buying the guide

Your purchase is handled by Payhip, which processes your name, email address and payment details to complete the order, deliver your access link and handle VAT. Payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal. Payhip's own privacy policy applies to the checkout: payhip.com/privacy. We receive your name, email address and order details from Payhip to deliver the product and answer questions (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), and keep them as long as tax law requires.

Emails and newsletter

If you sign up for our free resources or emails, or buy the guide and agree to receive emails, we send them with MailerLite Limited, 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 DK18, Ireland. MailerLite stores your email address, your name if you give it, when and how you signed up, and whether you open our emails or click links in them. We only send emails with your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you confirm by clicking a link in a first email (double opt-in). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the end of every email. We then delete your data, unless we need to keep proof of your earlier consent. We have a data processing agreement with MailerLite.

Instagram messages

On Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) we use Manychat, Inc. (USA) to answer comments and direct messages automatically, for example when you comment a keyword to get a link. Manychat then processes your Instagram username, your public profile details and your messages with us, to send you what you asked for (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Transfers to the USA are based on the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Instagram's own privacy policy also applies.

Contact and withdrawal forms

If you use our contact or withdrawal form, Netlify (see Hosting) stores what you enter, your name, email address and message, and forwards it to us by email. We use it only to answer you or handle your withdrawal (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete it when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it.

When you email us

We use your email address and message only to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Just email us. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
